Selected Experience
A client set aggressive goals for growth but did not have the systems in place to support them. The existing pricing process included a number of Excel spreadsheets owned and executed across multiple teams. I facilitated workshops with Sales, Operations, and IT to agree upon the desired functionality of the system. In the long run the business wanted 90% of their existing product types to be no or low touch. I then delivered a roadmap and system architecture to meet scalability targets in the short-term and support an ever-increasing number of no or low touch products as the system was built. This approach allowed the business to receive an early return on investment and the opportunity to strategically determine the ROI for each additionally supported product type.
A client was interested in changing the sales process to allow greater flexibility in product configurations and provide real-time pricing. I uncovered the required scope of the project over the course of multiple workshops and interviews, estimated the amount of effort required to complete the project, and laid out a roadmap for the next year of development efforts on the system and the required integrations and functionality of surrounding systems.
A Retail Energy client determined that the number of deals being lost as a result of not getting bids out in time was costing them millions in lost margins. I designed a system that would enable them to automate costing for a much larger percentage of product offerings and thus significantly increase the number of deals being won by their sales team. The system was built to support back-testing to ensure that the costs being produced matched those being generated by the existing system within a tolerance level. In testing the new system it enabled the business to discover a number of bugs within their existing system that increased the drive to switch to the new system.
